There are many invisible barriers in the culture industry that lock out people with disabilities, preventing them from taking part in art activities. The aim, therefore, is to implement a number of exemplary measures in the course of Graz 2020 in order to encourage inclusive action in the sphere of culture and to draft a European best practice model.
One specific goal is for the 3rd Future Day “Inclusion: Culture” on 28 May 2021 and the “Inclusion in Music” theme day on May 5 2021 to reach out to a wide public.
In addition, “Create New Openings!” is a cultural education project that sets out to make Bill Fontana’s “Primal Energies” exhibition at Kunsthaus Graz accessible to people from all sections of society.
The project will be accompanied by the lifestyle magazine “Das Magazin des Guten Lebens” and a Graz guideline for inclusive culture.
“Kultur inklusiv” is a project of the Akademie Graz in collaboration with the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and the IKS association.
