“Re_stArt#Graz2020” accompanies people with a migration biography who were already working in the artistic, creative sector in their home country back into the process of artistic creation.
The aim of “Re_stArt#Graz2020” is to give people with a migration biography who have already worked artistically or creatively, but are unable to continue this work in their new home, the opportunity to get back into the process of artistic creation with the aid of supervised workshops. In cooperation with the FH Joanneum, this innovative approach goes far beyond a mere integration project.
In this case, art not only becomes a bridge-builder between different cultures but rather the protagonists regain a purpose in life. At the same time, their artistic expertise is a valuable addition to the art scene in Graz.
During the creative process, the artists will be accompanied by mentors. In addition, there will be a book publication documenting the artistic restart and examining the protagonists’ biographical backgrounds.
